The Auckland metropolitan area nt last census included Auckland City (population 64,951). nine neighbouring boroughs, two town districts, and 18.908 country residents, the total for the area, being 133,712. The population of 90.443 for Wellington, published on Saturday referred to the city proper and not the metropolitan area. The figures for Tnangahua County published yesterday (4130 ‘for 1921 and 34-1-8 for 1916) were tagged as showing a decrease of 682, whereas the figures actually show an increase of 682.
