The Prime Minister (Right. Hon. W. F. Massey), who reached Vancouver on Friday last, has cabled to Sir Francis Bell that his address until May 15 will be care of the Canadian Prime Minister, Ottawa. Air. Massey and his party have arranged to leave New York for England by the Carmania on May 17. The Minister of Education (Hon. C. J. Parr) has returned from a visit to the South Island. He went as far as Dunedin, where he discussed with the govs erning authority a proposal to spend a very large sum of money on the extension of the Otago Medical School. The Minister of Public Works and Native Affairs (Hon. J. G. Coates) left for the East Coast yesterday morning. He intends to proceed from Napier right round East Cape to the Bav of Plenty, and will return to Hawke’s Bay via Rotorua and the Urewera Country. A part of the journey will be made on horseback. The Minister expects to 'be away from Wellington until the end of the inonfh. Mr. P. D. Leslie, the New Zealand manager of the Colonial Mutual Life Office, leaves by the Moeraki on Thursday to join the EuripiHfes at Sydney for Cape Town. Mr. Leslie* has been appointed as the society’s manager for South Africa.

Mr. R. W. Dalton, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner, left Wellington yesterday for Auckland. Mr. Dalton will be absent, from Wellington for two or three weeks.

Mr. A. Cerutty, Dunedin manager for fihe iluddait-Parker Company, has been promoted to the Auckland branch, states a Press Association telegram. Mr. T. O. Bishop, technical adviser to the New Zealand Coal Mine Owners’ Association. left for the south last night on a visit of inspection to the mines in the South Island. He will be absent from Wellington for about a week. Mr. F. J. Gunn (officer in charge, Coal Control Department), who has been on a holiday visit to Australia, returned by uie Moeraki last night. The Rev Dr. J. 11. Hertz, Chief Rabbi of t’lie United Hebrew Congregations of the British Empire, .arrived in Wellington by the s.s. Moeraki from Sydney last evening, and is staying at the Midland Hotel during his visit to Wellington. His Worship the Mayor is tendering a civic reception to Dr. Hertz at the Concert Chambet of the Town Hall at 3 p.m. to-day. to which all citizens are cordially invited. Mr. Will Lawson, who has been appointed organiser to the New Zealand Forestry League left for Christchurch last night. ___
