Interviewed, Armstrong considered that his team had a hard fight before it. There was not much between tho Englishmen and the Australians. Carter, and himself were the only ones who previously had played serious cricket in England. Until a few games had been finished he could not express an opinion on the Teste. It was absurd to eay that this was t'he best batting side that had ever left Australia, but the material was all right. He hoped for the best.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
SELECTORS QF ENGLISH TEAMS. London, April 19. Tho Cricket Board of Control has asked Messrs. Spooner, H. K. Foster, end J. Daniel] to select the English teams for the Test matches. It has also decided that no player shall contribute, a report or statement to the Press re-* garding games in which he is playing.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ENGLISH COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ALLOTMENT OF POINTS. (Rec. April 20, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 19. The Marleybono Club has decided that the county championship shall -be decided thus: A win outright, five points; a win on the first innings, three; loss on the first innings, one point; tie 2J; tie on the first innings, 1J ; if no result on the first innings, match ignored. The position depends on the percentage of points obtained to the maximum.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
