An Afghan diplomatic mission has arrived at Angora. The leader, Ihmen Khan, is delivering Anglophobo speeches, which are being widely published. In an interview, he stated that it was the duty of the entire Islamic world to assist the Nationalists as allies. Afghanistan had not concluded an entente with England, who was daily finding it more difficult to cope with the Indian revolution. Afghanistan had- unsheathed her sword in defence of her independence, and only when this purpose was attained would she return the sword to the scabbard. ' ' The Pan-Islamic fever is raging with unprecedented violence in Ailiplia, and Anglophobo propaganda continues unabated. The propaganda has now turned against tho Italians, as the result of an alleged change in policy. The Nationalists are displaying a threatening and truculent attitude.

It is reported from. Nationalist sources that the Angora Council has nominated Sheik Ahmed el Sonussi as a candidate for the throne gf Mesopotamia. He has gone to Mosul.—" The Times.”

BOLSHEVISM DENOUNCED

BY AFGHAN MULLAHS. (Rec. April 20, 7.50 p.m.) Delhi, April 19. Advices from Russian Turkestan state that Afghan Mullahs are preaching against Bolshevism, declaring it to be the worst enemy of Islamism and advising Afghan subjects to refrain, from co-operation with the Bolsheviks. Mullahs in Afghanistan itself have recently shown themselves suspicious of Bolshevik intrigues. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
