The Tennis Association is sending a cable message to France to ascertain if she is prepared to send a team to Australia and New Zealand at the end of the year, including Mademoiselle Lenglen. It was also decided to establish a competition open to all Australian States and New Zealand on Davis Cup lines, the winner to hold the Anthony Wilding Cup, which was won by Wilding in competitions and presented to Australasian tennis by his parents. The Lycett-von Braun match was the best contest seen in the championships. It resulted in Lycett winning, 4—6, 6 —3, B—6,8 —6, 6—4. Braun’s driving was of the hurricane variety, both forehand and backhand. He volleyed excellently, and served with the high-kicking American delivery, which fully tested Lycett’s powers of return. (Rec, April 17, 11.10 p.m.) London, April 16. Tn the final of the covered courts championships singles, Crawley beat Lycett, 4—6, 14—16, 7—5, 9—7, 6—3. It was a record match for covered courts, lasting three hours and a half. Lycett was within a point of the match seven times in the fourth set. In the mixed doubles Fisher and Mrs. Peacock, beat Lovibond and Mrs. Lambert Chambers, 6 —o, 7—5. In the challenge round singles Gobert (France) beat Crawley, 6—2, 6—4, 4—6, o—6, 7—s.—Aus.-N.Z.
