SAVAGE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. Mr. E. A. Blundell (chairman of the committee) presided at the annual meeting of the Savage Club, which was held in the club’s practice room, Exchange Buildings, last evening. There were nearly a hundred members present. The balance-sheet, which, with the report, was adopted, showed the club to be in a prosperous condition. The election of officers resulted as follows—President, His Excellency the Gov-ernor-General, Viscount Jellicoe of Scapu; vicerpresidents, Messrs. E. A. Blundell. A. W- Newton, A. Russell, and James Hislop; committee, Messrs. (I. J. Buck. F. G. Courtney, W. E. Jackson. Dr. D. N. Isaacs, J- F. Carr, T. Queree, and W. Simni; musical director, Mr. Frank Thomas; .treasurer, Mr. H. Henderson; secretary, Mr. Ronald Lyon; auditor, Mr. T. 11. Jones. For some time past the club has considering the erection of a memorial to its members who fell in the war. Last evening it was unanimously decided to allocate the sum of .6250 for the purpose, the memorial to be incorporated in some fitting manner in the Soldiers Memorial Chapel, to be included in the new Wellington Cathedral that will be erected in Dufferin Street.
