INTERNATIONAL CRICKET
HOBBS HAS PAID LAST VISIT TO AUSTRALIA. London, April 13. J. Hobbs, the cricketer, writing to the "Star,” says he has paid his last visit to Australia, not because he .dislikes Australia—on tdie contrary, he is very fond of the country and its generous-hearted sportsmen—but he does not want to be absent from home again for such a long period. Referring to the barracking incident at the fifth Test match, Hobbs said: “It is a pity that such a lot was made of the matter. To the best of my recollection a few people in the. crowd hreghed when I tried to run after a ball reaching the boundary. I did not take the slightest notice, because naturally I supposed they did not know I was injured. 1 must say that after all the fuss that had been made I received a truly wonderful reception when I appeared. ) never heard anything like it, and for » ttlme I was completely unnerved.”—Aus.N.Z.
