MANDATE FOR YAP

NO CONCESSIONS BY JAPAN PRESS VIEWS ON AMERICA’S ATTITUDE

Tokio, April 13.

The newspaper "Maizu,” which is regarded as the Government organ, says the Japanese reply regarding the island of Yap is being drafted on the basis that no concessions will lie made by Japan. The "YtCmato Shimbun” says that Japan is prepared to exercise the mandate for Yap, disregarding the American protest. The Press generally regards the American attitude as unreasonable. —Aus.-N.Z.
