LEAGUE FOOTBALL
A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby League was held at the Trades Hall last night, Air. F. C. Evans presiding. The following members were also present: Messrs. C. Murphy, Crozan, Cranston, Martin, Childs, Langridge, Lawlor, and O’Connell. The report of the delegates attending the annual meeting of delegates recently held at 'Wellington was read and adopted. The. New Zealand Rugby .League wrote, asking for nominations for business and team managers for the New Zealand team to tour Australia. It was decided to nominate Afessrs. F. C. Evans and Charles Murphy. The New Zealand team will be selected on Afay 14, play trial games against Auckland on May 21 and 25, and sail for Sydney on May 26. It was decided to challenge Auckland for the Northern Union Cup, and the secretary was instructed to write the northern province, and endeavour to arrange liome-and-home games annually. April 18 was fixed as the last day for receiving nominations, and April 23 tho opening of the season. The following is the result of the election of officers: Chairman, Mr F. C. Evans; selectors (senior), Messrs. C. Alurphy, Lawlor, and Childs; postponement committee. Messrs. Langridge, Dyson, and the secretary; insurance committee, Messrs. Martin? Langridgo. Palmer, C. Snow, Cranston, and Crozan. Mr. .1. M'Duff was added to the list of vicepresidents. Mem tiers expressed appreciation at Air. Brough’s action in donating a. handsome cup for the third grade competition, and ths secretary was instructed to write nnd thank Mr. Brough. Tho committee decided to meet weekly in future.
