SECOND DAY AT TRENTHAM.
The Autumn Meeting of the Wellington Racing Club will concluded at Trentham to-day. The train arrangements will be found as complete as on . the first day, and racing will again commence at noon. Fisher should bo a better horse for his race on Thursday, and may again account for the moderate lot he will meet in the Jumpers’ Flat Handicap. Fresh horses, in Asterina, 80-Peep, and Royal Exchange are engaged in the Hutt Handicap, one mile. This promises to be a good betting race, and Chrysostom will probably be one of the favourites. Strong support will also be forthcoming for Bagdad and Listowel, both of whom did well* on the opening day. Sunny Loch and Malaga, the placegetters in the Apprentices Handicap on Thursday, may be the best of those engaged in the Muritai Handicap. Rada finished on well on Thursday, and the half-sister to Sasanof may be capable of springing a surprise to-day. Marqueteur and Maioha will fight their Wanganui battle over again in the Autumn Handicap, but on figures the latter should hold his opponent safe. Vagabond showed good form at Ellerslie, and must lie reckoned with. Sunart is improving with racing, and will have plenty of support. The best of the light-weights is Insurrection, runner-up in the Great Autumn Handicap to Foo Chow. The* three-year-old stays well, and should take a hand in the finish. The much-discussed Pacific Handicap has drawn an acceptance of' eleven two-year-olds. In the absence of Mermin and TamatWte, Rational is top weight. He is to be ridden by A. M'Donald. The Hawk seems to have trained off, and the handicap form of Winning Hit has been nothing to enthuse over. Absurdurn and Anomaly should both go we l‘> while the supporters of Purple Spur will be very numerous, as it is not considered that he showed his host form on Thursday. Absurdum and Anomaly may he found fighting out the finish. Form pointjs to Duo as being the licet of the Gold\Cup field, with Sasanof second choice. Golden Bubble may be the public fancy in the Suburban Handicap, and the chestnut is bound to run well, but a fresh horse in Miss Mimic is likely to complicate tho issue. Two good performers in Tigritiya and Solfanella are at the top of the handicap, and it should be remembered that the former.is always the better for a race. Automonna may be favourite in the Belmont Handicap. The bay mare has been carrying all before her of late, and she is hot badly treated with 9st.
