FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present, indications are for variable and strong winds, northerlies prevailing northward of Kawhia and East Cape and south to south-easterlies elsewhere. Expect dull and humid conditions with rain probable generally. Barometsr unsteady with a falling tendency everywhere. Barometric pressure has decreased steadily in the north, but the barometer rose last night in the south. Cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed, and rain has been 'reported in the northern, west coast, and southern districts.
