AUSTRALIANS BEAT ROTORUA FIFTEEN.

To-day the Australian cricketers played a one-innings match with a Rotorua fifteen, which made an unexpectedly good fight, scoring 250. The principal scores were:—Godsalve, 27; Warner, 37; Cook (a returned soldier at King George Hospital), 90; Wallis, 14; Woodward, 17. Hornibrook took four wickets for 31 runs; Liddicut, two for 13; Asher, two for 97; Kippax, one for 1G; Ratcliffe, one for 27; Richardson, one for 7; Hansford, one for 7; Bogle, one for 6. The Australians made 314, the chief scorers being: Forssberg, 74; Richardson, 55; Bogle, 51; Kippax, 49; Liddicut, 31; Ransford, 19. Wallis took four wickets for 112 runs; Hockin, two for 48; Mitchell, one for GO; Godsalve, one for 20; Cook, two for 49.

ALTERATION OF PLUNKET SHIELD RULES. By Telegraph.—Preia A««ooiatlon. Auckland, April 6.

The matter of proposed alterations to the Plunket Shield rules, to bring them into line with the Sheffield Shield rules as played in Australia, was discussed by the Auckland Cricket Association tonight. It was decided to fall in with the suggestion of the New Zealand Council. as favoured by Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago.
