TRADE WITH GERMANY

THE SALE OF AUSTRALIAN WHEAT

(Rec. April 6, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, April G. The Labour Conference decided to ask the Government to thoroughly inquire into all phases of the wheat industry. 'The Minister of Agriculture, who was present, stated the price at which the wheat was sold to Germany. It could not be landed in Germany under 12s. 6d. per bushel. Justifying the sale, he said that if it was right, to export foodstuffs to Germany, it was only right that imported German goods should be allowed into Australia. He trusted that the Federal Government would remove the embargo from German imports.—Press Assn.
