AN APPLICATION DECLINED.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 6. The question of employing a Hindu as a teacher under the Auckland Ediication Board was discussed by the board last .evening. An application fromi a Hindu for employment as probationer was referred to the Education Be P ar 2; ment for its opinion. The reply from the Department stated that there uas no objection to the applicant being employed. When this reply was read, the secretary (Mr. Purdie) said he won d like the board's direction in regaid to ludi appointments.
