SHIMIDZU UNABLE TO COMPETE.

New York, March 31

Kinnagae. the Japanese tennis player, has received a cablegram from Shimidzu, stating that the latter will be unable to come to the United States to compete for the Davis Cup. Kumagae is keenly disappoint'd, as lie planned to partner with Shimidzu in the national doubles championship, as well as in the Davis Cup tournament. Kumagae has cabled to the Japan Tennis Club, urging that _ it. make a strenuous effort io get permission from Shimidzu’s employers at Calcutta to give him leave.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asn.
