London, March 31

Mr. J ustinian Oxenham, Secretary Of the Commonwealth Post and Telegraph Department, will sail on Saturday, caSching the Niagara at Vancouver. Interviewed by a representative of the Australian Press Association he said ho had reached a satisfactory arrangement with the British authorities in regard to mail transit accounts covering the special circumstances arising out of the war period. He had also completed a contract for the installation, in Ausilralia, of Murray’s multiplex telegraph apparatus, an Australian invention, enabling more rapid transmission throughout the Commonwealth. Tho first installation will be between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Mr. Oxenham attended all the meeting of the Pacific Cabre Board and was instrumental in securing resumption of the Australian week-end cable privileges both ways. He arranged that Mr. E. Golding would visit Europe to investigate flhe latest telegraphic and telephonic development. Mr. Oxenham conferred with the Imperial Communications Standing Committee and the Imperial Wireless Chain Committee and it is probable that the Australian wireless section of i|he wireless chain will be installed at Perth.— Aus.-N.Z.
