CRICKET
WELLINGTON MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Wellington Cricket Association met last night, when there were present Messrs. C. G. Wiilson (in the chair), B. L. Salmon, R. Murphy, M. J. Crombie, W. G. Hughes, C. R. Edmond, H. J, Buck, and R. S. Johnston (secretary). In reference to a protest lodged by Central Mission against the action of Marist Bros, in playing in a third-grade match a boy who afterwards went back to St. Patrick’s College, it was decided to take no action as the protest had. been lodged too late. The protestante claimed that a. breach of the Cricket Association's rules had been made in that the boy had played for two clubs in the one season.
Subject to the approval of the manager of the Australian team, it was decided that the hours of play in the Test match with Australia should be 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 to 3.45, and 4. p.m. The Johnsonville Club claimed that the third-grade match with Central Mission on January 29 should 1>« awarded to .Johnsonville by default on account of the Central Mission pinvers having lets the field. Johnsonville asserted that after an adjournment because of ram the rain cleared sufficiently to allow the game to continue. Gn the other hand Comtral Mission representatives statod that the rain was continuous, and that the ground was rendered unfit for further It was decided to take no action.
