It is officially stated that ten shrines have been recently attacked in the Lahore district. Considerable apprehension has been caused in various parts of the Punjab bv bands of men, often in military formation, armed with axes and similar weapons. The Government has ordered their disarmament, and the prosecution of the leaders under the Arms Act,— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
