'Hie Marine Court has found that the barqiieutine Southern Cross struck the Reid Rocks, southward of King Island, whilst endeavouring to reach safety, owing to a fire below, and broke up rapidly. there being no possibility of the cix*' being saved.—Press Assn. [The barqueiutinc Southern Cross, 291 tons, owned by J. Dunkley, of Melbourne, was lost in ' September last. She was loaded with benzine. No trace of the crow was found.]
