SURPLUS DEFENCE STORES
RECEIPTS FROM DISPOSAL. The sales of surplus stores conducted . by the (Defence Department recently re- , suited in a very profitable return to the Department. Certain special lines were . offered for public sale in each of the four centres of the Dominion, and the remainder for sale, part to Defence em- ' ployees only and ■ part to the general public. The sales recorded from the com--mencement of operations in December, 1920 to February 28 last, are as under: — £ s. d. ‘ Auckland 25,995 2 4, Wellington 24,803 X 5 • Christchurch H o Dunedin 13 15 3 ToUl £85,130 18 0 There ■ is still a quantity of surplus stores on hand to be disposed of, and so far .as Wellington is concerned purchases may be made at the Garrison Hell, - Buckle Street.
