STILL WITHOUT FIREMEN
THE TROUBLE QN THE WAHINE.
The position with regard to the ferry steamer Wahi no remains unaltered. Efforts to obtain tho necessary firemen and trimmers to complete the stokehold crow have been made, but without result. and the vessel is still in port. Further searches for men will be carried out to-day, but the prospects are not considered bright, and it is very doubtful if the vessel will sail. Mails arrived last night from the south’by the Kamo, which called in here, en route from Lyttelton to Auckland. If the Wahine is unable to make her usual trips, this week it will mean a curtailment of many people’s Easter holidlays.
