GOLF
MORNINGTON CLUB. The opening of the Mornington Golf Club’s 1921 season took place on the municipal links on Saturday in good golfiing, if somewhat windy, weather. There was n large attendance of golfers, who took a lively interest in the proceedings. Dr. Cameron, Hie president of the club, who has done much both for the club and in connection with the municipal links generally, briefly welcomed those present, and declared the season open. Councillor Thompson, chairman of tho Reserves Committee, made a few remarks, and then drove the first ball. A mixed foursome was played, and won by Miss Oughton and Mr. Dobson. The ladies’ putting competition was won bv Mrs. Whitehead, and that for tho men by Mr. Whitehead. Refreshments were dispensed by tho ladies, under the supervision of Mesdames Whitehead and Howard. The committee who carried out the function noted with pleasure that all present seemed to enjoy themselves. JOHNSONVILLE CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Johnsonville Golf Club, and the formal opening of tho season on tho links will take place after the Easter holidays. The secretary advises that in the meantime the links ore open for play.
