' TWO POLICEMEN SHOT
A STATION BURNED AND MAILS STOLEN

Dublin Castle reports that armed men shot Constable Reynolds dead at Clifden, Galway. During the subsequent searches John MacDonald was shot dead while evading arrest. A police patrol was attacked at Ballymote, and one constable was killed. William Kennedy, a merchant, was shot dead outside Borris, Carlow.
Armed incendiaries set on fire and completely destroyed the Richill Station in Armagh.
