RECEIPTS MUST BE STAMPED. (Bv Telegraph—Special OorrniuondentJ Masterton, March IS. Judgment was delivered by Mr. S. L. I’. Free, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, in the cases in which employees of the Masterton County Council were charged with signing unstamped receipts for house, travelling, and tooi • allowances. Dealing with the charges against Michael O’Meara, the Magistrate said that receipts for travelling and tooi allowances should be stamped, as these items could not be classed ss wages. O’Meara, won 11 be convicted and fined 40s. His W< rship said he could net find \any receipts for amounts over ,1:2 in connection with the charges against three other employee#, and would, therefore, dismiss the informations.
