Tho King received an ovation at the Liverpool races. It was tho first time in history that: the King had attended on the opening day. To-morrow the King and Queen, Princess Maty, and the Prince of Wales will witness the Grand National. In view of the Sinn loin outrages in tho district firmed police were present to safeguard the course and the jumps, and fire extinguishers were at hand.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
