WAHINE HOLD-UP
STILL SHORT OF FIREMEN.
The AVahine was again unable to sail last night for Lyttelton, and so some 300 passengers had to prolong their stay in the city, The vessel is 16 firemen and 10 trimmers short. Several men accepted work, but-did not put in an appearance to sign on. The people who booked for last night’s ferry will be accommodated An the Maori to-night, and berths will he allotted at the Union Company s office between 9 and 11 to-day.
