THE SESSION

MAY FINISH TO-DAY. The Prime Minister indicated last night that he saw no reason why the session should not be completed to-day. The House of Representatives has put the Finance Bill through the first-reading stage, and the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill through its first and second readings. It adjourned at 11.45 p.m. yesterday, and will meet again at 11 a.m. to-day. Members may reach the end of the session’s work during the evening.
