DEER STALKING
SEASON OPENS ON MARCH 24. The red deer shooting season for 1921 will open in the Wellington Acclimatisation Society’s district on Thursday., March 24, and close on Tuesday. May 31, 1921. Stalkers will thus be enabled t.o get the benefit of the Easter holidays. The license fee for the Wairarapa South and Featherston reserves is £2. and the holder of a license may take four stags and six hinds. Licenses can be obtained from the cost offices at Wellington. Masterton. Carterton. Greytown. Martinborough, and Featherston. For the area coitaining Hutt, fcatherston counties (Wainui), Horowhenua and Hutt counties (Paraparaumu), Tarania, Forest Reserve, Tauhercnlkau. and Taihape. the license fee is £2. an<l the holder mav take two stags and two hinds. Licenses can be obtained from the post offices at Wellington. Masterton. Carterton Featherston, Greytown. Eketahuna, Pahiatua. Makuri. pengaroa Pataicrston North. Parnnarauniii, Otaki. Tnihape, Mangaweko, Shannon, and Ix>wer Hutt. Tho ijrca from Manawatu Gorge to Otaki is closed to stalkers, but the lanherenikau county is open for the second time fo’ - years. . ... . , Regulations as to deer labels mnr.t be adhered to. and after the license-holder has completed his season, a, return of stags shot must be sent to the local secretary and also any remaining tags.
