OLYMPIC HARRIER AND A.A. CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. Mr. W. H. Philp presided over a record attendance at the annual 'meeting ot the Olympic Barriers. Among those present were -Mr. W. H. Bennett (life member of tiie club) and Mr. A. Davies (vicepresident). In moving the adoption or the report. Mr. Bennett commented upon the good that were to be gained from hurrierlsm. "Harrierism,” he said, "brought out all that was good in a boy, and it also created a spirit of unselfishness. Mr. Davies made mention ot the tact that although there wer.e no harrier clubs either in Auckland or Hamilton, he had been told that there soon would be a club' in each place. This, he contended, would be very beneficial to all clubs, since there would be so much moin competition. The balance-sheet read showed the club to be on a sound financial basis, and the prospects for the coming season seem extremely bright. Hie election ot officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:--President. Mr. IV. H. Philo: vicepresidents, Messrs. F. Hodson, T. H. Wilson, A. Davies. A. A. Marryatt. D. J. Alabaster. IV. H. Bennett, J. Don, 11. R. Gates. A. C. Kitto, D. E Beaglehole, H. Osborne, D. Alabaster, and, N. Perry, club captain. Mr. IV. Scatchard; deputycaptain, Mr. A. Tracey; hon. secretary, Mr. E. A. Selman; hon. treasurer. Mr. J, V Power- hon. auditor, Mr. D. J Alabaster; delegates to centre, Messrs D. J. Alabaster and J. V. Power; official timekeeper and starter, Mr.' H- r G. Wilson; hon. handicapper. Mr. F. Hodson: club couch, Mr. 11. G. Wilson; general committee. Messrs. R. F. Osborne. W. Clarke, L. Lovell, K. Beaglehole. ..Eighteen new members were elected.
