COTTAGE GARDENING
WADESTOWN AUTUMN SHOW. The autumn show of the Wadestown Cottage Garden and Beautifying Society was opened by Mr. R. A. Wright. MT., on Saturday, in the club room, Pitt street. Commenting on the fine quality of the flowers and vegetables displayed. Mr. Wright said great credit was due to the enthusiasts who had done so much to make the show a success. He further stated that he hoped the various Sarden societies ,of the suburbs of . Wellington would hold a combined show in the town Hall at a future date. He felt sure such a show would be largely attended, especially by the town dwellers who had no gardens. At the conclusion of the show the exhibits were auctioned, tho proceeds to go towards funds of the Cadets and Territorials’ Community Club. ■- Mr F. Westbury, judged the /.vegetables and flowers and Mr. F. Hilton the home products. Prize-winners were as follow:— Class A—Pot Plants. Ferns: Mrs. Watkins. 1. Flowering plants; Mrs. Sirett, 2.
