GREATER WORKING EXPENSES. Though the number of units sold during the eleven months passed of tho current municipal financial year shows an increase of over half a million over tho corresponding period of the previous financial year, the working expenses have mounted up out of all proportion, and the credit balance is very much smaller. The operations during the eleven months of the financial year to date are as follow:—
Units sold 6,064,658 5,509,655 A table appended to this report) shows that gerieration expenses for 1920-21 are £21,401 in excess of those met with in 1919-20; distributions and general expenses have also increased by £1124 and £l6OB respectively. The following table shows the results of operations at the electric lighting department for the month of February:—
