MURDER OF SPANISH PREMIER
MANY ARRESTS MADE.
(Rec. March 12, 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, Match 11.
Fifty arrests, mostly prominent anarchists and Socialists, have been made in connection with the assassination of Senor Date, the Premier. The murderers still remain undiscovered.
The Neovo, the most aristocratic club in the capital, has offered a reward of £20,000 for the discovery of the assassins. There was a solemn silence in the Chamber when the Acting-Premier denounced the vile murder. He said that this was the third time a Spanish Premier had fallen a victim to barbarians waging war on civilisation.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
