MR. STOREY’S MISSION
TO STRAIGHTEN OUT NEW SOUTH WALES FINANCE NO INTENTION OF TAKING AGENT-GENERALSHIP By Telegraph—Frees Asßociation-Oopyright. (Rec. tfMarch 6, -5.5 p.m.) London, March 5. ' A representative of the Australian. Press Association interviewed Mr. J. Storey, Premier of New South Wales. Mr. Storey said he had left Australia a sick man, but had arrived in England in robust and buoyant health, prepared for the hard work into which he purposes to throw himself straight away. He confirmed the statement published in Australia on, January 16 in reference to his mission,- which is principally devoted to finance and which imperatively demanded attention. With that purpose he had arranged for an interview with Sir Robert Nivison on. Tuesday. He will proceed thereafter, with the co-operation of Sir Timothy Coghlan, Sir Robert Nivison and other financiers, to straighten out the New South Wales finances and ensure regular supplies of motfey in, the next few years. . Mr. Storey emphatically denied that he hag any intention of taking the Agent-Generalship. On the contrary, he is eminently satisfied with the present arrangement under which Sir Timothy Coghlan carries out the duties without salary, for which New South Wales owes him a debt of gratitude. ' The Labour Party will tender a dinner to Mr. Storey at the House of Commons on Tuesday. Mr. Storey expects to remain in Englandl for two months returning through Africa.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. .
