COMMODORE OF N.Z. FLEET

OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE MAYOU

Commodore Hotham, of H.M.S. Chatham. who ranks as Commodore of the New Zealand Sub-fleet, paid an official visit to the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) yesterday morning. There were a number of members, of the council present, and tor half-an-hoiir a pleasant chat took place, mostly dn the changed conditions of the Navy as the result of the outcome and the lessons of the wap. The Mayor proposed the health of the visitor in felicitous terms. Tho Mayor and members of the council will return the call this afternoon.
