NOTES AND COMMENTS By GijENCob. By consenting to postpone tho taking of ths acceptances for its Easter Meeting until the conclusion of the Mastertou Meeting, the Feilding Committee is showing a sensible regard for the rights of owners, who will no doubt be fully appreciative of the action. A little more care in the compiling of the .programmes of all racing clubs would be the means of saving owners thousands of pounds during the course of one racing season. The Wanganui Meeting will be concluded to-<luy. Of the half-dozen engaged in the Harrison Hack Handicap, the improving A'indictive will not have any Ngatas to beat. R. J. Mason has paid) up for Vespucci in the Autumn Handicap, and if lie is at Ills best the Vorco gelding should be dangerous, but Bonnie Heather, whose form was altogether wrong in the Cup, and Passim’ Through, who had all the bad luck on the opening day, will both be hard to dispose of. Zola, 12st. 131 b., is again in ths field for the. Hurdles, but such a burden will surely anchor him, and the next pair on the list, viz., Explorer and Hautawa, will be more likely to tako part in the finish-. Amorel is the only winner amongst the two-year-olds in the Okoia Handicap, and the Boniform. filly and .Scion should both account for tho remainder of the field. , The Cup winner, Lovematch, has been raised 121 b. in the AVanganui Stakes, and Client has gone up 61b. This should bring them back to the others, and Alaioha and Idle Talk may both lie fbund racing prominently at the finish. Only seven hacks are engaged in the Matarawa Handicap, and they are a very poor lot. Amber Tips is on the upward grade, and the San Fran gelding should be equal to disposing of the ot Solfanella, a place-getter in the Flying Handicap, should have plenty to say in the decision of the Farewell Hand cap, as the Solferino gelding always seems to gallop better after a race. thoroughbred sale By Telegraph.-Press Association.
