CARPENTERS’ DISPUTE
ADJOURNED FOR A WEEK. Consideration of the Wellington carpenters’ dispute, in which the union is claiming n wage of 3s. per hour and a 40-hour week, was to hare been resumed at a sitting of the Conciliation Council yesterday, but an adjournment for one we"k was arranged. The conference between the Master Builders and Contractors’ Association and the representatives of the union to discuss the proposal of the employers to reduce wages from Us. Jo 2s. ?d. per hour, will be resumed this evening.
