LAST WEEK’S FIGURES DECLINE IN INFANTILE PARALYSIS During the week ended noon yesterday 32 cases of infectious disease were reported in the, AVellington public health district, a decrease of 12, compared with th - previous week. Notifications of infantile paralysis numbered four, being four less than for the week ended February 14. In the past five weeks, 23 cases of infantile paralysis have occurred in the AVellington health district Of the latest four cases, two were reported from Wellington city, one from Khandallah, and one from the AVai-pawa district. Hospital districts which reported cases of infectious disease last week were —Al’aipawa: Diphtheria, 4; infantile paralysis, 1 Palmerston North: Scarlet fever, 2; diphtheria, 1; ophthalmia, 1. Wellington: Diphtheria, 4; tuberculosis, 5; infantile paralysis, 3; lethargic encephalitis, 1; pneumonia, 1; chicken-pox, 1; influenza, 1. . Wairarapa: Scarlet fever, 1: diphtheria, 4; pneumonia, 1.
