ATTACK ON AMERICAN SAILORS
BY RUSSIANS AT VLADIVOSTOK.

Admiral Strauss, of the American Asiatic Fleet, has advised the Navy _Department that two sailors of the United States cruiser Albany were slightly injured in an attack by Russians at Vlaklivostok on February 8. Admiral 'Strauss states that the affair has no political importance. Mr. Daniels (Secretary of the Navy) has asked for details of the affair.—Aus.N.Z. Cable -Assn. [The Vladivostok correspondent of the newspaper "Asahi Shimbun’ reported that unknown persons fired on five American sailors in Vladivostok on February 8, one of the sailors being wounded. Three Russians officers were arrested in connection with the case. The caper also stated that the Americans refusal to recognise the right of Japanese troops to police Vladivostok was developing serious conditions.]
