Will RELIEF ASSOCIATION'S VIEW. Reference to the immigration to New Zealand of Imperial ex-soldiers am} sailors is made in the annual report of the AV ar Relief Association of AYellington, The report statesi—“Owing to the military and geographical position of New Zealand there has been a great increase in the claims received from ex-imperial soldiers and sailors and their dependants, many of whom have arrived >n New Zealand with exhausted financial resources. There are four sources by which these men are being assisted to New Zealand, and until recently there appeared to be little, co-operation between them. The committee is of the opinion that the money raised for the benefit of New Zealand sick, wounded, and necessitous soldiers, should not be expended on cases sent out by the Overseas Settlement Committee, also that no man or woman should be permitted to Rave England without the approval of the High Commissioner having been obtaincd°respectjng their y qualification to be absorbed into the industrial or agricultural industries of the Dominion. Ihe matter has been taken up fully vitn Sir .Tames Allen, who has been requested •-» endeavour to ensure that a sum of money be sent to New Zealand tor administration by the Immigration Department, or if 'he desires, by the association, on behalf of Imperial ox-serwee meh arriving in the Dominion with exhausted financial resources."
