RIFLE SHOOTING.
PETONE RIFLE CLUB. With variable wind prevailing, members of the Pet-one Rifle Club concluded the shoot for the fourth competition at Trentham on Saturday, Rifleman J. 0. Carter securing the honours of the day by reaching the highest score, and incidentally winning the spoon competition. Ten ©hots at both the 300 and 600 yards ranges were fired, and the wind varied from zero to 16 degrees right. Results are-.—
SUBURBS CLUB. The Suburbs Club; continued shooting at Tre'ntham on Saturday. The conditions at the start were fair for shooting, but about half-way through, heavy wind end rain set in and several members were unable to find the target. The best scores off the gun were mode by C. Milroy <541 and J. L. Turner (53), these competitors firing in heavy rain. T. Caplin (69) was top for the day, and Cadet Jones second. In the pairs match Oanlln and Lewis. 106 points, Milroy and Emms, 86, President relHngham. 64. 1000 \

OLD NAVALS CLUB. The members of the Old Naval.■» Club fired their third match of their second series at Trentham on Saturday, for trophies donated by Colonel E. O. Cooper, Captains E. D. Bell and A. V. H. Munro, and Messrs. E. T. Taylor and F. Lamberg. Tho' conditions, were ten shots and sighter at each 300 and 600 yards. On account of rain several members abandoned their shoot at the latter range. The scores were as follow:—
