AUSTRALIAN WORKERS’ UNION
VOTE FAVOURS ARBITRATION. Sydney, January 29. . Mr. Blakeley, president of the conference of the Australian Workers’ Union,, now in session, stated that the organisation favoured arbitration in preference to the strike, by 16,138 votes to 10,157. “Those who advocate the strike,” he said, “are unintentionally selling the workers and betraying unionism. Some people preach that.emancipation can be achieved only through blood and fire; but ballots are better than bullets.”— Press Assn.
