GROWTH OF OVERSEAS TRAFFIC.

(Rec. January 30, 5.5 p.m.) London, January 29.

The “Daily Chronicle’s” Berlin correspondent draws attention to the growth of Danzig as an overseas shipping port. Before the war its trade was almost entirely coastal. Now there are several American passenger and freight sen-ices to the port. In 1913 tho United States flag was not seen in Danzig harbour, bnt in 1920 the American tonnage entered there was 233,(100 tons, compared with tho British 250,000 tons, and the German 205,000 tons. —Aus.-N.Z.
