THE DOMINION TOURNAMENT YESTERDAY’S GAMES CANCELLED Progress in the Dominion bowling tournament at present being played in Wellington has again been hampered by wet weather, and no games were played on city greens yesterday. Consequently the pairs competition will have to bo concluded in a different manner than was anticipated. A special meeting of the Dominion Bowling Council was held last evening, and a decision was arrived at regarding the draw for to-day, the decision being later endorsed unanimously jar a large meeting of visiting and local bowlers. Under the new scheme, to be adpjiteu to-day, all defaults will count as wins. The sections with the lowest numbers <if wins will enable all otliers in other roctions with the same number of wins to qualify. A redraw wifi then be made, and no ties will be played off. The remaining two games of the programme shall ba reduced "to 16 heads, and this afternoon two more games of 16 ' 1(? ad8 will be played, on the “sudden death principle. On Monday jnorning tP semi-finals will be played, each came to consist of 21 heads. Special arrangements haye been for to-day’s play. The wingers of etctions and others qualifying will assemble nt the Wellington green this afternoon at 1.30 o’clock. The draw will be made there, and then the players can leave for their respective greens—Thorndon. Victoria, and Wellington. For the second post-section gdme, a fresh draw of those left in their respective greens will be made. Play will commence to-day nt the usual hour, and players who have been drawn for Lyall Bay will play instead at Lower Hutt. GAMES AT EASTBOURNE. The following games were played yesterday at Eastbourne:— Section 88. Fourth round: Sinclair (23) beat Woolf (16); Spiers and Glendinning absent. Fifth round: Woolf (26) bent Glendinning (17). (Result not affected.) , Section EE.—Fourth round: Bell (24) beat Horton (20); Tyrrell (10) beat Chapman (14); Gray (1-1) beat Gooder (13). Fifth round: Chapffiln (14) beat Gooder (12); Gray Cl 5) beat Horton (13); Tyrrell' (14) beat Bel? (10).
