ALLIES AND ARMENIA
APPARENT LESSENED INTEREST DISAPPOINTMENT EXPRESSED AT WASHINGTON By Telegraph—Preßß Washington, January 20. It is understood that President Wilson is somewhat surprised by the apparent lessened interest of the Allies in Armenia, following on the mediation of the Bolsheviks, whic.li is believed not to have been in the best interests either of the Armenians or of the Allies. The failure of tho Allies to respond to President Wilson’s requests for advice and assurances has also occasioned disappointment, and the. feeling has grown that tho Allies have become indifferent concerning the /efforts the President might make to save Armenia. It has been intimated that the Allies would be willing to sacrifice Armenia in order to arrive at an acceptable arrangement with the Turkish Na-tionalists.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
