4 FIRST DUTY TO OBTAIN GERMAN REPARATION COUNTRY’S CONFIDENCE IN ENGLAND By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. Paris, January 20. M. .Briand outlined his policy in the Chamber of Deputies. It carries out his predecessor’s military service scheme. Tho attitude towards Germany is not violent, conditionally on her fulfilling her obligations. It is intended to maintain all alliances. GERMAN "DISARMAMENT NECESSARY TO SECURITY OF FRANCE. (Rec. January 21, 7.30 p.m.) Pari,, January 20 M. Briand. in the Chamber of Deputies, declared that there was still no real peace with Germany. Security was possible to France only if Germany was disarmed. Ho urged the necessity of prompt peace with Turkey, and emphasised the striqt need of reducing the French army to a strict minimum. Economy in national finances was necessary. France could no longer bear the cost of reconstruction, which was duo from Germany.—Reuter. PARIS POLL-TAX ON FOREIGNERS. Paris, January 20.
