Fathers had retired from the superintendency of the Maranui Sunday School after ten. yeai s service, and a resolution appreciative of his work was ordered to be recorded in the minutes. On the motion of the Rev F T. Read a resolution of thanks was’also recorded to the local Pr-achers (both local and visiting), who, by then voluntary assistance, had made possible the carrying on of the services in the district. The election of circuit stewards for the ensuing year resulted in the reappointment of Messrs. Fathers and M. Cable, while Mr. P. S. Latham was chosen as representative at the forthcoming conference, with Mr. Fathers as substitute. A contemplated foiuard movement was discussed, and receded hearty approval. WELLINGTON SOUTH. The quarterlv meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit was held on Monday night in the Donald M Lean Street Schoolroom, the chair being occupied bv the Rev. E. Drake. The Rev. Dr. ’Pinfold and a good number of officials were present. Membership returns showed 312 senior, with eight probationary members. Sunday school returns proved satisfactory. The income was shown as £307 17s. 3d., leaving a balance in hand of £46 15s. 2d. Arrangements were made for dealing widi the existing deficit, and harvest festivals were appointed to be held during the month of February in the three churches of the circuit. Officials were thanked for the work done during the year, and the following were appointed for 1921 Circuit stewards: Messrs. S. T. Martin and. H. S. Rillar; foreign mission treasurers, Messrs, A. W. Martin. E. Feltham, and E. Brooks; home mission treasurers, Messrs. H. Goodhull and W. Hoare, with Miss I. Potts; agents .for the “Methodist Tinies,” Messrs. S. Smith, W. B. Brown, and A. H. C. Brooks; auditors, Messrs. C. Swiney and Webb. It was decided to make llie collection for the Young People’s Department on Sunday, March 20. Mr. A. H. C. Brooks was placed on the plan as a local preacher on trial.
