RIFLE SHOOTING
PETONE RIFLE CLUB. As a result of the good weather conditions nt Trentham the last competition was very keen, and some good scores were registered. The ranges were 300, 500, and 600 yards, seven shots at each, distance. For the championship, the veteran shot, A. Ballinger, compiled tho fine score of 97, with a good score of 34 at the 600 yards range. C. Iloffeins scored the possible tit 300 yards, and was heartily congratulated. E. Ballinger also scored 34 at 500 yards. In the handicap scries Rifleman S. Knight spoon, and Riflemen A. Weir and A. Ballinger ammunition prizes. The scores were:—
