INDIANS IN FIJI
GREAT EXODUS DUE TO POLITICAL
AGITATION.
(Rec. January 13, 9.55 p.m.)
Sydney, January 13
The Rev. Mr. Small, Methodist missionary at Fiji, states that the exodus of Indians from Fiji in the past year assumed considerable proportions, and continues at an increasing rate. One steamer recently carried 1000 adults and 300 children back to India. The exodus is partly due to political agitation. Several agitators from India visited the islands, their mission being to represent, or misrepresent, things to Indians. Press Assn.
