RAILWAY REVENUE
THE LATEST RETURNS.
The railway returns for the period from April 1 to December 11, 1920, show that the revenue amounted to <£4,475,955 16s. lid., as compared witn £3,583,416 Ss. id. in the corresponding period of the/ previous financial year, and the expenditure amounted to <£3,747,455 3s. <r 83.72 per cent, of Hie revenue, as against £2,617,572 12s. lid., or 73.88 per cent. The excess of revenue over expendituie was £892,515 11s. 10d., as compared with £1.099,882 10s. 6d. in the corresponding period While the revenue increased by £798,500 13s. 6d„ the expend! ;uro increased by £935,867 12s. 2d.
