SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
Mr. T. E. Jones arranged the concert at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Tuesday, when the demand for encores was numerous and insistent. The performers were Messdames Paterson, P. Morgan, 'Maofarlane, Misses Peggy Jones, Ashenden. Lewis, A. Henderson, and Messrs. T. E. Jones, Maofarlane, Barton, and Bowen. Mrs. Macfarlane and Misses Hannah and Henderson were at the piano. Questions were put to Mr. Moore on the position in the drink world, and answered. Pledges followed. Prizes for the competitHons came from the host, Mrs. Embling, Mrs. Hannah, and Mrs. M’Cann, and went to Wangaratta, Arawa, and Port Nicholson.
